This work, created by Aj Roi in 2024 for his first solo exhibition ("NOT A WONDERFUL WORLD"), is the first (along with "SLAVERY", created in the same period) to be composed of two signs instead of one.


The scene (consisting of the "RESIDENTIAL AREA" road sign and the "PEDESTRIAN PATH" sign) shows a US soldier burning a hut with a flamethrower, causing panic among the Vietnamese children.


With "VIETNAM WAR" the artist wants to raise awareness about war crimes and the involvement of civilians, especially children.


In the sign on the left, the little house has taken on the appearance of a hut; the tree turned into a palm tree; and the ball - with which the children were playing - has become the head of a third child, who runs in panic, wearing the typical cone hat.
The expressionless little man on the right-hand sign, however, thanks to his helmet and flamethrower, takes on the appearance of a ruthless soldier.
