The artwork, whose title can be translated depicts the bully from "The Simpsons" (the famous animated series) laughing and pointing at the tiny penis of Michelangelo's David.
Created in 2024 by Aj Roi on a real "No Trespassing" road sign, this contemporary artwork is one of the first three where the artist used the sign as a canvas, without altering its meaning.
Since his earliest works, Aj has always altered the meaning of road signs by adding text or graphic elements. In this work (as well as in "PACMAN GIVENCHY" and "MIKE," created around the same time), we see the white of the sign as a background, with the red band acting as a frame.
Those familiar with The Simpsons will remember that Nelson, Bart's classmate, is known to mock people with his iconic "HA HA." In this work, we see him mocking the penis size of one of the most famous sculptures by the renowned Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarroti.
An ironic and irreverent work that connects one of the finest examples of Italian Renaissance art and one of the most well-known and beloved cartoons, in a scene that provokes reflection on aesthetic canons and their evolution over time.
