A real italian "pedestrain crossing" road sign serves as the backdrop for a horror movie scene: what was originally a mild little man crossing the street is now a bloodthirsty serial killer disguised as a clown, unexpectedly appearing in the middle of the street, under the light of a streetlamp, brandishing a large hammer and staring at you with a disturbing expression.


Clowns are ambiguous characters, capable of dividing opinion: they're supposed to make people laugh...and yet so many people are terrified of them, so much so that countless horror films feature them.
Both the setting and the subject of this work, however, are inspired by killer clown pranks: around 2015,  videos featuring young people dressed as clowns, frightening passersby by smashing the heads of human-like mannequins, resulting in massive splashes of fake blood  were very popular.


This work is the 3rd in a disturbing series that began with "AXE SERIAL KILLER", where Aj Roi transforms crosswalk signs into portraits of masked serial killers brandishing various weapons.
